We wait for You in full expectation of Your glorious appearing, for You were and You are and You are coming again in great glory. You are the Almighty, the Holy One of Israel.
The LORD, will go forth like a warrior, He will arouse His zeal like a man of war. He will utter a shout, yes, He will raise a war cry. He will prevail over His enemies. Isaiah 42:13
But Zion said, "The LORD has forsaken me, and the Lord has forgotten me." "Can a woman forget her nursing child and have no compassion on the son of her womb? Even these may forget, but I will not forget you. "Behold, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands; your walls are continually before Me." Isaiah 49:14-16 In God's perfect timing He will pour out His Spirit to save Israel. He will reveal Himself, as mighty to save and intimate in His love for His chosen nation. "I will pour out on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the Spirit of grace and of supplication, so that they will look on Me whom they have pierced; and they will mourn for Him, as one mourns for an only son, and they will weep bitterly over Him like the bitter weeping over a firstborn." Zechariah 12:10
The Gospels reveal Jesus in His humiliation and His suffering. After 400 years of silence, and as the nation was occupied by Roman rule, Christ the Messiah, comes to fulfill the prophesies of Suffering Servant, Lamb of God, Faithful Witness, Firstborn among the dead. "Who has believed our message? And to whom has the arm of the LORD been revealed? For He grew up before Him like a tender shoot, and like a root out of parched ground; He has no stately form or majesty that we should look upon Him, nor appearance that we should be attracted to Him. He was despised, and forsaken of men, a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief; and like one from whom men hide their face. He was despised, and we did not esteem Him. Surely our griefs He bore, and our sorrows He carried; yet we ourselves esteemed Him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But He was pierced through for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the chastening for our wellbeing fell upon Him, and by His scourging we are healed. All of us like sheep have gone astray, each of us has tuned to his own way; but the LORD has caused the iniquity of us all to fall on Him. He was oppressed and He was afflicted, yet He did not open His mouth; like a lamb led to the slaughter, and like a sheep that is silent before its shearers. Isaiah 53:1-7
God in His Sovereign love for His nation, Israel, is going to reveal Himself as eternally faithful to her. "But now listen, O Jacob, My servant, and Israel, whom I have chosen,: Thus says the LORD, who made you and formed you from the womb, who will help you, Do not fear, O Jacob My servant; and you Jeshurum whom I have chosen. 'For I will pour out water on the thirsty land and streams on the dry ground; I will pour out My Spirit on your offspring and my blessing on your descendants; and they will spring up among the grass like poplars by streams of water.' " This one will say, ' I am the LORD's'. And that one will call on the name of of Jacob; and another will write on his hand, 'Belonging to the LORD,' and will name Israel's name with honor."Isaiah 44:1-5
And you will know that I am the LORD; those who hopefully wait for Me will not be put to shame. Isaiah 49:23
Revelation, to unveil, to uncover, to reveal. Something or someone once hidden becoming more visible. The book of Revelation is the revealing of Jesus Christ, who is coming again in great glory and triumph, as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. It is in essence, His Revelation at His Second Coming, the culmination of events that usher in His Eternal Kingdom and fulfill His eternal promises to all the called, chosen and faithful. The Holy Prophets saw ONE vision concerning Christ's coming. In this vision they saw a suffering servant and a reigning King. The Prophets did not prophesy about the times of Gentiles, for they were prophets of Israel. The book of Revelation is the revelation of Jesus Christ at His second coming. I want to post more about this inspiring book in the weeks to come. It will be a series of posts entitled, With Great Expectation.
